EVIMED 60 (Raloxifene HCL) is a drug taken by women to prevent and treat bone loss (osteoporosis) after menopause. It slows the rate at which bones are lost, keeping them healthy and strong so they have less of a chance of breaking. EVIMED 60 can also reduce the likelihood of a certain type of breast cancer appearing after menopause. A single dosage of EVIMED 60 contains a total of 60mg in one pill.Raloxifene HCL fits into a group known as selective estrogen receptor modulators-SERMs. Some tissues in Raloxifene HCL’s composition exhibit estrogenic activity, like for example with the bone or liver. In other areas, it shows antiestrogenic activity such as with the breasts and uterus. This means that it increases density in places where it's needed while decreasing density where it shouldn’t be. This action makes Raloxifene HCL useful when treating osteoporosis or preventing certain types of breast cancers from forming. The user should take one 60mg pill daily. If used improperly, side effects may include hot flashes, leg cramps, blood clots, vaginal dryness.Estrogen, cholestyramine, tibolone and colestipol shouldn’t be taken alongside this medication.
